At GreekDance we have put together a repertoire of Greek dances that we believe are not only fun but are also dances you can do outside the classroom. Examples include the very popular Sirtaki, Zembekiko, Pantozali, zonarathiko, Ikariotiko, tsamiko and many more. Our aim is to teach you the skills to become confident at Greek dancing so that you are no longer the one who just sits and watches.  The basics of Greek dancing are not difficult, so take your first steps with us, you won't regret it!

Zissis Kakoulakis

Tradition Greek Dance Teacher
With almost 20 years of  dancing experience in Greek as well as Latin American dances, Ziz  has been trained to performance level. Now he has turned his interests to teaching, passing on some of the wealth of knowledge he has built up over the years.
With knowledge of many different dances from all over mainland Greece the islands and Cyprus, Ziz is extremely well adapted to all varieties of
Greek dance and styles. Combining his interest in dance with amateur film making Ziz has also produced several popular
online dance instruction videos.
Ziz is a true believer in the quote by Plato who said: 'The dance, of all the arts, is the one that most influences the soul. Dancing is divine in its nature and a gift from the gods.'

Evi Xydia

Picture
Evi’s dancing journey started at a very early stage in paniyiria watching her father playing and singing traditional Greek music. She joined a local dancing group at the age of 8 and after numerous performances and 5 different dance teachers, she stopped at the age of 17. She then tried various other styles of dancing like salsa, tango, mambo, hip hop, etc. In September 2015 she joined GreekDance, which made her realise her great passion. What she loves so much about the classes at GreekDance is the passion and love for Greek dances expressed by the teachers. She would describe dancing as a great trip in culture and history accompanied by passionate people.

Cassandra Passaran

Picture
Cassandra was first introduced to traditional Greek dancing at school as a young child. Like many at that age she felt that she was being pushed into it by her parents who wanted to continue the traditions of our culture. As an adult, she didn’t think she would enjoy it that much but once she started she couldn’t stop.  Now, every Wednesday is her favourite day of the week. A great place to meet up with friends, release some stress and more importantly, tone up those thighs.

Maggie Koliou

Maggie is from Corfu and has been living in England for the last 18 years working with children with autism. What she misses the most about Greece is a pita yeero and a lively panigyri! She goes back home all the time to eat Greek food and dance. She joined GreekDance 5 years ago and loved it from the start. She loves listening to traditional Greek music and dancing and the class has been a great place to make new friends, relax and have a great time.
